Main duties of the job
This post is to strengthen the existing team of Gynaecologists at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. The team provides care to women across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, and the Isle of Man.
The successful candidate will assist with the provision of general gynaecology, including emergency gynaecology, outpatient general and special interest clinics, and inpatient elective gynaecological surgery (both major and minimal access). The candidate may participate in emergency gynaecology, including a part of the 'hot week' team for general gynaecology, and will contribute to medical education for undergraduate and postgraduate doctors. They will also lead on the development of new pathways and support the senior management team in shaping the future strategy of gynaecology services within this tertiary centre.
Qualifications / Registrations
* Full GMC registration and license to practice
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
* MRCOG or equivalent CCST
* Relevant CCT or equivalent (equivalence confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
Clinical experience & skills
* Work independently in outpatient clinics & theatre
* ATSMs: Benign abdominal surgery – open and laparoscopic OR, advanced laparoscopic surgery for benign disease OR gynaecological oncology
* SITMs: Gynaecological surgical care and/or management of complex nonmalignant disease and/or oncology
* ATSMs: Acute gynaecology
* ATSM's: early pregnancy, benign gynaecological surgery (hysteroscopy), colposcopy, menopause, vulval disease
* SITMs: Chronic pelvic pain, colposcopy, complex early and non‑elective gynaecology, menopause care, therapeutic hysteroscopy, vulval disease
