Southern Hospice Group is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join the team. The role will report directly to the CFO, managing day to day Finance functions and be responsible for; financial budgeting, forecasting, reporting & cashflow, draft statutory accounts, annual audit, and be a business partner for all areas of the organisation.
You will confidently be able to:
* Prepare annual budget & quarterly forecasts.
* Review and produce monthly management accounts & business review packs.
* Manage cash flow and movement between bank accounts and ensure that sufficient funds are available to fulfil the charities commitments and excess funds are reaching their full potential.
* Liaise with the Payroll & Pensions Officer and ensure the monthly salary, pensions and other payments are released on time.
* Oversee all transactions & processing systems.
* Prepare statutory accounts to draft stage.
* Be the point of reference for advice relating to the VAT and Gift Aid implications of any activity planned within the organisation and have experience of VAT claims.
* Manage the annual finance audit.
* Maintain internal controls which ensure security and efficacy of Hospice funds and instigate procedures to minimise the risk of fraud or theft.
* Proven work experience as a Head of Finance or similar
* Experienced leader with excellent decision-making skills
* Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups, Excel Integration with accounting system)
* Demonstrable knowledge of a range data analysis techniques and forecasting models
* Proactive and able to manage high workloads.
* A team player willing to have hands-on involvement with the day-to-day running of a significant sized business.
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of MS Office packages
* Clear and confident communicator with strong personal organisation skills
* Team working, collaboration and co-operation
