Workday Engagement Manager at Kainos
We are looking for a Workday Engagement Manager to fully manage the successful implementation of Workday Extend solutions for our customers. The role involves working closely with customer business teams and internal delivery teams to drive the scope, definition, and delivery of fit‑for‑purpose and commercially viable solutions.
Responsibilities
* Commercially manage the implementation of global Workday Extend programmes.
* Act as the key client interface between functional and technical teams and the client.
* Offer domain experience (Extend, HCM, Finance, Payroll or other relevant Workday Capability) to provide functional insight and thought‑leadership.
* Manage all aspects of delivery, including project planning, resourcing, milestone tracking, commercial management and customer satisfaction.
* Lead and support blended teams of colleagues, client and partner resources to share knowledge and develop an integrated delivery ethic.
* Agree on objectives, outputs, milestones, timescale with the client, together with associated contract and commercial terms.
* Identify requirements, business processes, application configurations, testing plans and other artefacts to facilitate knowledge transfer.
* Create well‑structured and accurate deliverables and present them to client steering groups to secure recommendations and agreement.
* Identify and action opportunities to win business, including negotiating and closing at a senior client level.
Qualifications
* Experience implementing Workday solutions with direct experience of successful delivery within a consulting or IT services environment.
* Full lifecycle project management experience, from opportunity through to data migration, testing, go‑live and service management.
* Excellent customer focus – ability to assess customer needs and manage expectations, including resolving escalations.
* Commercial experience managing geographically distributed, blended teams to share knowledge and maintain an integrated delivery ethic.
* Excellent commercial management, influencing and negotiation skills.
* Sound credibility and ability to formally present to senior client audiences.
* Excellent business writing skills – business cases, requirement documentation, contracts and change requests.
* Success in identifying and acting on opportunities for additional business.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and to make decisions under pressure while balancing customer demands and Kainos commercials.
* Ability to maintain a network of external contacts.
* Understanding of risk management and risk ownership.
* Willingness to travel to customer sites in the same region (minimal out‑of‑region travel may be required).
* Support the operations function to ensure consultants are used in a commercially advantageous way, balancing development needs and personal preferences.
Desirable
* Experience managing, mentoring and developing teams.
* PRINCE2 (or similar) certification.
* Strong functional domain expertise – HR, Finance, Payroll.
