Property Finance Analyst
We are currently recruiting for a Property Finance Analyst to join our progressive and professional Finance department and help manage the activities of the Group’s property portfolio. The Travis Perkins plc group has 2,000 properties, including 400 freeholds. Our property finance team looks after lease costs of £200m (rent, service charges, and insurance) and £100m of business rates, as well as being responsible for annual construction spend of circa £100m and property maintenance costs of circa £10m.
You’ll be an analyst with demonstrable experience in a large company, ready to deliver high-quality monthly processes for property finance. This is a role requiring strong relationships with our property department and group and divisional finance.
Principal Accountabilities
1. To assist with the timely and accurate production of the monthly accounts, including preparing the property cost journals for the whole group to strict deadlines.
2. Preparing and completing reconciliations within agreed timescales and to an accurate level, with a view to developing a system of reporting and ensuring any adjustments are made in a timely manner.
3. To answer property queries from branch and business unit management in a timely manner.
4. Assisting in preparing budgets for property maintenance costs which will be charged to the branches.
5. Assist the fixed asset team in their month end processes posting journals and completing reconciliations.
6. Complete capital expenditure cost analysis as requested by business units.
7. Monthly capex reporting to business units.
8. Ad hoc projects as required to meet the needs of the business.
What you’ll need to have/be:
9. Demonstrate problem solving and good communication skills.
10. Demonstrate accountability/responsibility and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
11. Good attention to detail.
12. Candidates should have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
13. Currently studying towards a recognised qualification, or an interest in doing so.
14. Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
15. Previous experience in data analysis (Desirable)
16. Ability to use data software to interrogate information (Desirable)
