Daily Needs

Hi Potential Carer! I have completed my degree in American Studies and am now undertaking a Masters in Film Studies. I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic condition causing muscle weakness. It also causes tightness in certain muscles, requiring daily physio exercises.

As my carer, your main challenge is to keep me alive; everything else is a bonus. Despite what they may tell you, being my carer isn't that difficult—just needs help with every aspect of my life. It might sound difficult, but it’s rewarding!

During weekends, I enjoy gigs, concerts, museums, art galleries, and cinema. I often go with friends or just with you. I also love shopping for LPs and books.

You should be someone who doesn't take things too seriously, has a good sense of humour, and respects my privacy. You won’t need to be around constantly, so you'll have plenty of downtime for yourself.

About The Job

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference. You will assist with health and social care, and it’s a flatmate-style role, involving social activities typical of a university student, like socialising and exploring Manchester.

Our client is looking for individuals to assist with:

* Personal Care
* Health Care
* Social Support
* Daily Living
* Housekeeping / Domestic duties

Care experience is not required; full training will be provided.

About You

You might not have experience in all areas, but full training will be given.

You will need:

* A full clean UK driving licence (essential)
* To be physically fit, calm, patient, and caring
* Organised, reliable, and with a good sense of humour
* A mature, responsible attitude
* Good communication skills
* Fluent in English
* To be clean and tidy in appearance and manner

You will be fully trained before starting, so prior experience isn't necessary. Respect for privacy and confidentiality is essential.

If interested, please include your interests and why you would be suitable in your cover letter.
