Role Overview
As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating both computer numerically controlled and manual machines. Your expertise will ensure precision in machining operations, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality components.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
* Download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
* Select and install appropriate tooling for various operations.
* Calculate feeds and speeds for different materials, including steel, copper, and aluminum.
* Perform quality inspections and adhere to applicable quality systems.
* Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
* Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
* Time-served in a machining discipline with at least 5 years of experience in a lean-manufacturing environment.
* Relevant Health and Safety awareness.
* Experience with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas.
* Proficiency in using precision inspection equipment.
* Ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
* Self-motivated with strong facilitation skills in a team setting.
* Positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* HNC Engineering preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lean-manufacturing work environment.
