Mechanical Fitter / Assembler
We're looking for a hands-on
Mechanical Fitter / Assembler
to join our client's fabrication workshop in Aylesbury. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical assembly skills who enjoys problem-solving, working to precision standards, and being part of a supportive production team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out fitting and mechanical assembly of metal and machined components
* Reading and interpreting
third-angle projection engineering drawings
and SOPs with accuracy
* Building post-weld subassemblies using hand tools, torque tools, and fixtures
* Performing pressure and leak testing, documenting results as required
* Preparing finished units for dispatch or installation
* Operating general production machinery and handheld tools
* Identifying and reporting defects, ensuring high-quality standards are met
* Supporting other areas of production when needed
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace (5S & H&S practices)
* Completing associated admin tasks accurately
What We're Looking For
* A strong work ethic, reliability, and great attention to detail
* Someone proactive and adaptable, able to prioritise tasks and work independently or as part of a team
* Confidence in using measuring tools such as micrometres
* Practical experience working with
third-angle projection drawings
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Maintenance or Performing Engineering Operations.
* Hands-on experience with
bespoke heat exchangers
* Proven experience working from third-angle projection drawings
Desirable Skills & Background
* Experience with flame cutting, CNC cutting, milling, or turning
* Previous work in a fabrication workshop environment
* Knowledge of quality inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT)
