As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. Working within the healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities will include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions.
Responsibilities include:
1. Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
3. Providing care and advice about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support safe and legal dispensing.
5. Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
7. Working with evolving technologies to improve dispensing processes and enhance patient safety, with ongoing training and development opportunities, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or part of the store leadership team.
Qualifications and requirements:
* Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or currently working towards it, with the first year of an MPharm qualification completed.
* Current and valid UK right to work. Note: This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
Preferred experience:
* Experience working in community pharmacy.
