Holly House Vets has an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Vet Surgeon with a keen interest in Internal Medicine to join their fantastic, well-established team.
This is a full-time permanent position, consisting of 40 hours over 4 days per week on a rota basis, 1 in 6 weekends, and a share of the bank holiday rota, planned in advance.
We have 4 practices in the Leeds postcode, 3 in North Leeds and one in Ilkley. This role will be mainly based at our hospital; however, some holiday cover may be required at other branches.
The role involves working across medical and emergency departments. Duties include consulting, client care, routine and complex procedures, triage, inpatient care, and diagnostic testing (lab/radiography/CT) across a range of species (cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles, birds, small mammals).
Our facilities and environment
As a general practice with mid-tier referral, certificate holder-led departments in surgery, dentistry, and exotics, we have a varied caseload. Cases are worked up to a high standard. You will benefit from access to diagnostics like CT, X-Ray, ultrasound, laparoscopy, and endoscopy across our fully equipped practices. Facilities include purpose-built consulting rooms, an isolation ward, and a spacious prep/theatre suite. We use multiparameter monitoring for anesthesia and a ventilator to ensure high standards of care. Handling both first opinion and referral cases, our focus remains on delivering exemplary care to every species.
Location and team
Located just off the ring road in north Leeds near Roundhay Park, our practice offers excellent transport links to the city center. Our team comprises 19 vets, 19 RVNs (including a dedicated night nurse team), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists, providing 24-hour care at our hospital, clinics, and exotics practice. With 30 years of operation, we host annual team events, practice meetings, and offer career development and professional coaching.
