**Important notice** In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
This role is all about using your practical skills and attention to detail to look after a place that people love. We're looking for a Facilities Assistant at Polesden Lacey to help keep the whole place in good condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit.

What it's like to work here
It’s an exciting time to work at the celebrated Edwardian retreat of Polesden Lacey. New areas of the property have opened to the public, making this a year-round attraction with lots of opportunities within the team. The property boasts glorious views of the surrounding Surrey Hills, as well as an impressive art collection, manicured gardens and a large National Trust Shop. Colleagues have a great team spirit with close links to the local community. This picturesque property is just four miles outside of Dorking, however you're likely to need your own transport to get here.
Everything in the garden reflects Mrs. Greville's desire to impress her guests with lavish displays, garden tours are available through the day in summer and weekends in the winter.
What you'll be doing
Do you enjoy working with your hands, keeping things running smoothly, and making a real difference every day? We’re looking for a practical, can-do person to join our team and help care for our historic buildings and beautiful outdoor spaces.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you might be helping with biomass boiler maintenance and compliance checks, the next you could be cleaning, carrying out minor repairs, or lending a hand with deliveries. You’ll also work alongside our friendly volunteer facilities team and support colleagues across the property when needed.
In return, you’ll be part of a supportive team, gain valuable experience, and play a vital role in caring for a much-loved place for everyone to enjoy.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
