Our client, a leader in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Highway Development Management Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert transport and highways advice supporting various teams and external partners Act as the Council's expert witness at planning inquiries Prepare statutory highway/transport responses, including reviewing planning applications and conducting site visits Prepare evidence for appeals Advise councillors, officers, MPs, and community groups with clear, impartial professional guidance on highway and transport matters Secure developer contributions, such as Section 106, negotiating and monitoring infrastructure contributions Manage Transport Assessment reviews, scoping TAs with developers, and assess traffic modelling using TRICS, ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG Coordinate technical inputs and liaise with consultants Job Requirements: Experience in development management, transport, and highways Strong knowledge of transport and highway-related legislation and policies Proven ability to provide expert advice and act as an expert witness Ability to prepare and review statutory responses Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise various stakeholders impartially Understanding of securing developer contributions and managing infrastructure delivery Proficiency in traffic modelling tools such as TRICS, ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG Capability t...
