GLL is currently recruiting a Duty Manager to join our centre in Edmonton Leisure Centre. As a duty manager, you will be passionate about the leisure industry. A duty manager’s role is highly varied, you could be doing anything from unlocking the leisure centre and setting up, to ordering supplies and checking everything is perfect for your customers. Then, once the day is in full swing, duty managers ensure it’s all running as it should be – handling customer queries, managing your team and ensuring the successful operation of the gym, pool and other facilities. Your own development is just as important, as we’ll train you to sharpen your skills in this diverse duty manager role.

Edmonton Leisure Centre is set to become a future GLL flagship facility, and we're looking for ambitious, people to join us in this exciting next chapter. This is a rare opportunity is in the next stage of a major £5M+ redevelopment that will transform the centre and deliver incredible services to the community. As the driving force behind this transformation, you’ll join a dynamic team and be part of building an exciting programme from the ground up, creating a centre that meets the evolving needs of the community.
This ambitious project commenced in 2024, with completion in 2025 planned in phases. Phase 1 re-opened the centre in April 2025, includes the delivery of dry side services and programmes. With our next chapter opening our pools in the summer.

Originally opened in 2007, the centre has a rich history and joins the Enfield leisure portfolio, which GLL manages in partnership with Enfield Council.
What you will need:
1. Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up to date NPLQ training records and if not the NPLQ training can be provided subject to passing a swim test (You must be available to complete the course on the 7th July – 13th July 2025)

4. Ability to maintain a good and positive image of the centre to customers and the public by providing a welcoming, helpful and professional pools and operational service.
5. Assist customers with use of the facilities and activities and to encourage maximum use of the Centre.

7. Prepare areas and equipment for sessions as appropriate.
8. Responsible for the efficient and effective control of the day to day operations and service of the centre, ensuring that security, general cleanliness, customer supervision and equipment checks are maintained.
9. Ensure all pool safety / operating procedures are in place.
10. To maintain all ‘good housekeeping’ systems and assist management to effect improvement plans for energy conservation and resource maximisation.
11. Supervision of all staff on shift, effectively and efficiently allocating work and carrying out any other duties as required commensurate with posts level of responsibility.
12. Ensure all members of the team are effectively supervised and that all people management procedures are effectively operated within the team (e.g recruitment, absence reporting, qualification maintenance, appraisals, discipline etc).
