What the Job Involves As a Mental Health Social Worker in a community setting, you will provide assessment, care management, and social work services to adults with mental health issues and their carers. You'll collaborate within multidisciplinary community mental health teams and work with other professionals to establish eligibility for services, manage care plans, and act as a care coordinator. You are responsible for working according to the Council's financial regulations while understanding available resources. Participation in duty rota systems, safeguarding adult inquiries, and continuous training, including Approved Mental Health Professional and Best Interest Assessor training, are essential aspects of your role. You'll maintain accurate records, comply with local policies, and stay updated on current legislation and guidance related to mental health and vulnerable individuals.
