Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience Location: Widnes - fully office based Hours: Full-time | Monday-Thursday: 9am-5pm, Friday: 9am-4pm Benefits: Company pension, 25 days annual leave bank holidays, Christmas shutdown, free on-site parking, training & development opportunities Main Responsibilities to Include: Purchasing & Supplier Management Manage procurement of high-value goods and materials across European markets Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimise value Monitor and assess supplier performance, driving improvements where necessary Project & Sales Support Work closely with the Sales team to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines Maintain appropriate stock levels to support upcoming and ongoing projects Provide regular updates on lead times, availability, and order progress Accounts & Compliance Resolve procurement-related invoicing and payment issues Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal procedures and relevant regulations Keep accurate records of suppliers, purchases, and contract terms Data & Reporting Track purchasing activity, stock movement, and supplier performance Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement data in ERP and CRM systems Provide relevant procurement information to support planning and decision-making Sustainability & Improvement Contribute to sustainability goals by considering environmental and ethical factors in purchasing decisions Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve processes, and enhance supplier relationships The Ideal Candidate: Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities Effective communicator, confident working with Sales, Accounts, and Management Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles Commercially aware with strong attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Experience with ERP and CRM systems Practical problem-solving skills Background in renewable energy, construction, or a related technical industry is desirable Solid understanding of procurement processes and inventory control Experience working with European suppliers; knowledge of international trade/logistics is advantageous CIPS qualification is preferred but not essential
