A large, well‑established shared public sector legal service is seeking a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join its busy litigation team on a rolling contract basis. The service supports a wide range of public bodies across London and the Home Counties and is known for delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective legal advice across multiple specialist areas.

Your new role
As a Civil Litigation Lawyer / Senior Lawyer (G10–MG1), you will manage a varied caseload across housing, homelessness, licensing, judicial review, and general civil litigation.
Key responsibilities:
1. Advising clients across a broad range of civil litigation matters
2. Managing your own caseload to recognised quality standards
3. Drafting and negotiating legal documents and pleadings
4. Providing clear, practical legal advice (including in public meetings)
5. Attending court and hearings, including occasional out‑of‑hours work
6. Contributing to training and knowledge sharing
7. Supporting or mentoring junior team members (G11/MG1)
8. Handlingplex and politically sensitive matters at senior levels
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified solicitor, barrister, CILEx lawyer, or overseas‑qualified lawyer with relevant litigation experience.
Essential requirements:
9. Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedure
10. Experience in housing, homelessness, licensing, or judicial review
11. Excellentmunication and client‑care skills
12. Ability to manage a busy, diverse caseload
13. Strong drafting and negotiation skills
14. Confidence advising senior officers andmittees
