Job overview
The primary aim of the role is to provide SME support to the Clinical Effectiveness team throughout the Clinical Policy Development process as well as providing relevant and timely specialist advice and guidance on assurance to internal and external clients during Clinical Policy Challenges.
Main duties of the job
* Provide leadership for clinical coding review and specialist expertise relating to improvements in coded data and clinical audit processes, working closely with transformation, quality improvement and contracts teams across the CSU analytics functions
* Deliver services in a consistent and corporate manner aligned to the vision to design and deliver high-quality, cost-effective coding analytics and coding support required by our customers, to meet their strategic and operational objectives
* Contribute to the development of a long-term strategy for the continuing development of high-quality coding provision and analytics of clinical coding across the CSU and its partners

Education
* Educated to masters level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Knowledge & Experience
* In-depth understanding and working knowledge of clinical coding across primary, secondary and tertiary care organisations and experience of linking/utilisation of linked data sets
* Experience of providing specialist information and insight, particularly relating to clinical coding and clinical audit
* ACC qualified & evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
* Appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health and Social Care, individual provider and commissioning organisations and other NHS bodies
* Experience working in a pressurised environment requiring prioritisation of workloads and negotiation of delivery timescales
* Experience in communications and stakeholder management
* Experience of managing and motivating teams and reviewing staff performance
