Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Workshop-Based Fitter to join our team at a specialist piling company. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of piling machinery and equipment, including crane-suspended hammers, hydraulic hammers, piling hammers, excavators, piling rigs, and drilling equipment. Responsibilities
As a Workshop-Based Fitter, your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting maintenance, repairs, and servicing of piling machinery and equipment.
* Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and hydraulic issues efficiently.
* Ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
* Collaborating with the team to ensure timely completion of projects.
* Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
* Adhering to company policies and health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Proven experience working with plant machinery or piling equipment.
* Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
* Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (preferred but not essential).
Day-to-Day
Your typical day as a Workshop-Based Fitter will involve:
* Inspecting and diagnosing issues with piling machinery and equipment.
* Performing routine maintenance and repairs in the workshop.
* Collaborating with colleagues to ensure equipment is ready for deployment.
* Responding to urgent repair needs and minimizing downtime.
* Maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment.
