Job description
The role of the Integration Enterprise Architect is to develop the UK Firm's integration & DevOps technology strategy, communicate this to the business, and translate this into a roadmap that determines our investment priorities and transformation portfolio.
The integration strategy aims to create a seamless, end-to-end customer and employee experience by enabling the efficient creation and modification of effective and reusable integration components. It should promote the use of modern, Cloud-based technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), support typical integration use cases, and establish an integration catalogue that supports reusability while decommissioning legacy systems.
The Integration & DevOps Enterprise Architect will help articulate, execute, and govern this strategy by communicating with solution architects and projects to design solutions that are fit for purpose and adhere to standards and patterns. Maintaining core knowledge of integration platforms, technology trends, and the KPMG ecosystem is essential. Building roadmaps, solutions, and governing technology choices within the firm are key responsibilities.
Core knowledge
* Maintain high-level technical knowledge of current, emerging, and future technology trends and their impact on business.
* Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to business stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain expert knowledge of KPMG's technology ecosystem, including main applications and technologies involved in integration.
* Provide advice and learn from other firms, client teams, or clients seeking to implement or improve their integration technologies.
Roadmaps & solutions
* Build and maintain integration & DevOps technology roadmaps and architecture, collaborating with Capability CTOs and SMEs.
* Create and update artifacts using architecture tools like ARIS and Alfabet.
* Ensure alignment of roadmaps with overall cloud and integration strategies.
* Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring feasibility and standards adherence.
* Guide Solution Architects to produce fit-for-purpose designs leveraging reusable components.
* Contribute to technology selection and influence stakeholders to adopt suitable solutions.
* Chair and run the Data & Integration Design Authority (DIDA).
* Support design and implementation of operating models for successful integration deployment.
* Escalate risks and dependencies to leadership for successful strategy delivery.
Technology Governance
* Participate in establishing and maintaining the technology assurance process, enforce standards, and manage technical debt.
* Support enterprise architecture tools selection and implementation.
Essential skills - Integration
* Expertise in Azure Integration Services (API Management, Logic Apps, etc.)
* Knowledge of DevOps & IaC tools like Azure DevOps, Terraform, etc.
* Familiarity with other cloud-based integration platforms such as AWS, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica.
* Understanding of security aspects related to integration and cloud.
* Strong knowledge of data architectures, API management, integration patterns, and monitoring.
* Experience leading integration platform implementations and designing complex integration patterns.
Other essential skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Stakeholder management skills, ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
* Experience with Agile SDLC methodologies.
* Understanding of business analysis techniques and project management basics.
* Leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to work with ambiguity.
Desirable skills
* Knowledge of Business Architecture, GDPR, ISO 27001, ITIL, TOGAF.
* Experience leading offshore teams.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
