Teaching Assistant - Mainstream & ALN
Location: South Wales (covering Swansea and surrounding regions)
Are you passionate about supporting inclusive education and making a positive impact on learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across various educational settings, including primary and secondary schools, in the South Wales area.
This Teaching Assistant role offers flexible, long-term supply options, providing the opportunity to work in dynamic school environments within the region. The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and promote positive behaviour. Any experience supporting children or young people with SEN or ALN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech & language difficulties, or physical needs will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing.
* Implementing strategies from individualised plans and behaviour support plans.
* Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ personal care and mobility when required.
* Assisting with classroom organisation, resources, and display setup.
Requirements:
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education or Supporting Teaching & Learning (desirable).
* Experience working with children or young people in educational or ALN settings is preferred.
* Registered or willing to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
* Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to apply for one supported by the agency.
* Reliable, patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
