Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated & experienced Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring that our chefs have the necessary support to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels and restaurants.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items promptly and efficiently.
- Help with stock rotation and organisation of food supplies in storage areas.
- Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
- A passion for hospitality and a desire to work in a culinary environment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
