Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and adaptable Dental Receptionist / Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for patients while also supporting the clinical team with dental nursing duties as required.
This dual role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with both administrative and clinical experience to contribute to a welcoming, efficient, and patient-focused environment while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Reception Duties
* Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a positive first impression
* Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
* Answer phone calls promptly and assist with patient enquiries in a courteous and professional manner
* Maintain accurate patient records and update information as necessary
* Handle administrative tasks such as answering emails, data entry, and processing payments
* Liaise with dental staff to coordinate patient flow and ensure timely service delivery
* Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary materials
Dental Nursing Duties
* Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during a range of dental procedures
* Prepare and sterilise instruments in accordance with cross-infection control protocols
* Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment
* Support patients before, during, and after treatment, ensuring their comfort and reassurance
* Record clinical notes accurately and efficiently
* Manage stock control of dental materials and clinical supplies
* Adhere to CQC and HTM 01-05 guidelines and practice policies
Requirements
* Proven experience in a dental practice setting
* Qualified and GDC-registered Dental Nurse (or working towards qualification)
* Experience in a reception or administrative role preferred
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Proficiency in using Software of Excellence
* A friendly, professional demeanour with a strong focus on delivering outstanding patient care
* Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Pay: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
