An exciting opportunity to join the Trust as an Infusion Nurse on a fixed term/secondment basis for 10 months, providing speciality care for patients with Crohn's and colitis. The infusion room offers a vital service to our patients by initiating and administering biologics and other therapeutic medication to transform the lives of patients.
Main duties of the job
* Assess the needs for patients receiving therapy and ensure all care is provided.
* Manage day unit appointments and scheduling with the support of the Senior nurse.
* Provide emotional support to patients and families coping with long-term chronic conditions, which impact their daily lives.
* Keep patients and relatives fully informed.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation via the database and electronic patient record system.
* Commit to providing a safe, high-quality service.
* Work with allied professions to ensure a unified approach to Gastroenterology care.
* Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
* Support senior members of nursing staff in the clinical area and deputise in their absence.

Job responsibilities

We are a team providing speciality care for patients with Crohn's and colitis, and the infusion room offers a vital service by initiating and administering biologics and other therapeutic medication to transform the lives of patients.
The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of nursing care using a problem‑solving approach, working within the infusion suite. The post holder will carry out care without the need for direct supervision but will be supported by the senior IBD nurse.

* Completed IV medication competency
