Project Engineer - Automotive Tier 1 Supplier
Our client, a leading Tier 1 supplier of assembled automotive products, is currently hiring a Project Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Coordinating all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, installation, commissioning, and final buy-off phases.
2. Ensuring the project remains within budget to meet customer requirements.
3. Managing all project phases—planning, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and final buy-off—and delivering within project timelines and KPIs.
4. Collaborating closely with customers, attending meetings, and providing progress updates in line with APQP requirements.
5. Managing both customer and internal APQP activities and participating in PPAP processes.
6. Translating customer specifications into departmental actions or sub-supplier orders, managing resources, and tracking progress throughout the project.
7. Analyzing and assessing changes in customer or internal requirements, including feasibility studies and cost impacts.
8. Identifying potential project risks and implementing corrective actions, including root cause analysis and problem resolution.
The Project Engineer will have:
1. Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Project, with a good understanding of CATIA.
2. Strong knowledge of APQP, FMEA, DFMEA/PFMEA, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
3. Hands-on experience with APQP processes in an automotive or engineering environment.
4. An engineering qualification—degree or completed apprenticeship—with industry experience or a placement year preferred.
5. A background in manufacturing, ideally within the automotive or advanced engineering sectors.
6. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple project elements and stakeholders.
