The Role Applications Engineer Combustion & Power Systems
Were seeking a technically strong Applications Engineer to join our clients Power Group in Rutland.
Youll combine your engineering expertise with commercial awareness to evaluate customer enquiries, specify the right combustion and power solutions, and produce detailed proposals that convert into projects.
Youll work closely with clients in power generation, oil & gas, and petrochemical sectors, delivering high-performance combustion and environmental control systems that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate and interpret customer enquiries to design and specify combustion and power equipment solutions.
* Perform process design calculations (training provided where required).
* Develop accurate, competitive technical and commercial proposals.
* Communicate proactively with customers during the quotation phase to address queries and secure orders.
* Provide process data sheets and technical documentation to project teams post-order.
* Continuously improve proposal tools, documentation, and presentations.
* Maintain compliance with ISO9001:2015, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
* Promote the highest standards of health, safety, and quality in all activities.
About You
* Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
* Proven experience in Power, Combustion, or Fired Equipment engineering.
* Background in applications, proposals, or technical sales within process or energy industries.
* Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Confident, detail-focused, and highly organised.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Willingness to travel occasionally for client and project support.
* Full UK driving licence required.
