The Role
The team
ITV's Media and Entertainment Division (M&E) consists of two business units - Broadcast and Streaming - which collectively make up over half of ITV's total business today, both in terms of revenue and profit.
This high-impact role sits within the Group Strategy team and reports directly to the Group Strategy Director. It will be embedded in the M&E division to help support three critical areas of ITV's future-focused business: Streaming (in particular ITVX), Pay and Distribution (P&D), and Commercial.
You will play a key role in shaping the long-term direction of these business areas, ensuring strategic plans are turned into actionable operating models, and supporting high-value projects that span across the division.
The role
We are looking for a versatile and driven Strategy Manager to join our Group Strategy team, supporting the strategic direction and delivery of key initiatives within Streaming, Pay & Distribution (P&D) and Commercial.
The role will be broken into three main areas:
Strategy Definition (40%)
* Support with defining long-term strategic plans for the ITVX, P&D, and Commercial teams within the M&E division.
Strategy Execution (40%)
* Support to ensure that strategy plans across ITVX, P&D and Commercial are translated into multi-year operating plans, working with various business units and departments within the division.
Supporting ad-hoc Strategy Projects (20%)
* Support high-value strategic projects across Streaming, P&D, and Commercial, covering a range of themes including content windowing strategies, data analytics, competitive intelligence, and more.
While this role will involve broad engagement across ITV, the individual will work particularly closely with the Head of Strategy and the Group Strategy Director.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with business units and functional teams to translate strategy into operating plans
* Develop reports and deliver presentations to the M&E leadership and Management Board
* Support the delivery of various strategic recommendations
* Contribute to ongoing ad-hoc strategic analysis as required
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
* At least 2- 4+ years experience working in a strategy role at a top-tier strategy consultancy is critical
* Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
* Experience working with analytics or business intelligence teams to answer business questions and develop data-driven recommendations.
* Strong interpersonal skills and experience engaging directly with mid-to-senior levels in large organisations.
* Proven ability to self-motivate, work independently and operate effectively in collaborative team environments.
* Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills
* Business and analytical acumen - proven ability to derive deep insights from large data sets and interpret business implications and trends.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
* A knack for thinking strategically about business issues - including innovative use of data to develop insights and crafting compelling strategic outputs.
* Media industry experience is preferred.
* Ability to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of the media, broadcasting, advertising and online landscape.
* Comfortable shifting from high-level strategy work to detailed analysis when required
