About the Role
Pendleton Sixth Form College is looking to recruit a hardworking and driven teacher of English. The successful candidate will have expertise in the teaching of A Level English Literature and A Level English Language. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic teaching professional with excellent subject knowledge and a strong academic background. It is essential that candidates are passionate about working in education with young people and have high standards of achievement for all learners. We welcome applications from experienced and newly qualified teachers. For Early-Career Teachers (ECTs), we offer a full support programme which means you will be qualified to advance your future career in education.
The Department and Role
The English department offers A Levels in English Language, English Literature, Film Studies and Media Studies.
Our team is made up of experienced and early-career teachers who have experience in areas such as creative writing and performing arts. We have strong links with local universities and we have an excellent track record of our students progressing onto English, Media and Film degrees (and related degrees) at prestigious universities. Our key strengths are that teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to create supportive and academically challenging environments for our students to thrive in. We seek to appoint a teacher who is a team player and can bring imagination to their teaching. They need to be passionate about learning and able to develop outstanding rapport with students.
