We are seeking a proactive and motivated Assistant Health & Safety Adviser to support the delivery of our Health & Safety management system across the organisation. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager and wider operational teams, you will help ensure compliance with legislation, promote a positive safety culture, and contribute to continual improvement in health, safety and wellbeing performance. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in Health & Safety within a supportive and professional environment. Don’t worry if you can’t yet fully demonstrate the essential criteria, a willingness to learn and develop is just as important and we will support you fully on your apprenticeship journey to undertake the Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship. In this situation, the apprentice will be paid at 70% of the bottom SCP of the grade for the full role, or the Real Living Wage Foundation rate, whichever is the higher. What will you be doing? The Assistant Health & Safety Adviser will provide health and safety advice and guidance, taking the lead in data analysis activity and the production of management information reports. The role will support the team in various ways to ensure a professional and efficient service is delivered to CCC employees and external customers. The team is based at our newly constructed civic headquarters at New Shire Hall in Alconbury Weald, Huntingdon, and operates a flexible working policy. There is the opportunity to work remotely as well as from our central base at New Shire Hall, and travel is required to other Cambridgeshire offices. About you Successful applicants will be team players and great communicators, with the desire to think innovatively and strategically about how to improve the way systems and services work, challenge current processes, and work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation. Experience in MS Excel would be a particular advantage. Applicants for the Assistant Health & Safety Adviser role will have the NEBOSH Certificate or similar.
