An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Toolmaker to play a key role within a forward-thinking and innovative organization. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to high-quality production processes.
Responsibilities
As a Toolmaker, your duties will include:
* Planning and executing work to meet production schedules and deadlines.
* Manufacturing tools based on design specifications and standards.
* Using precision tools such as micrometres, verniers, and gauges.
* Repairing, maintaining, and enhancing mould and press tooling.
* Conducting evaluations of repair jobs to ensure tools meet operational standards.
* Operating manual machinery, such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM sinkers.
* Performing benchwork and keeping tooling systems in good working condition.
* Adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
* Reporting any equipment issues to the line manager for resolution.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Relevant engineering qualification or a time-served apprenticeship.
* Current Abrasive Wheels Regulations certification.
* Familiarity with hot runner systems, unscrewing mould tools, and progression strip tools.
* Laser welding experience (desirable but not mandatory).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy for operational duties.
* A strong mechanical aptitude, coupled with a proactive mindset towards learning and skills development.
Day-to-Day
Key daily activities will involve:
* Inspection and testing of tools to ensure they meet technical specifications.
* Collaboration with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
* Management of multiple concurrent tasks while effectively addressing challenges.
* Staying informed of the latest industry technologies in moulding and manufacturing.
* Maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
