 Location: Castle Donnington, DE74 Pay Rate: £17.69 per hour Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Flexitime available - start between 7:00am and 8:30am Mon-Thurs, 6-hour shift on Fridays)
 We're working with a leading precision engineering company in Castle Donington to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision-engineered components and enjoys working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
 The Role
 As a CNC Turner, you'll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turn-mill machines and manual XYZ lathes to produce parts that meet strict engineering specifications. You'll take ownership of the full machining process — from interpreting technical drawings to final inspection — ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency throughout.
 Key Responsibilities
 
Create, test, and optimise CNC programs for precision component manufacture - Set up and operate CNC machinery, selecting tools, speeds, and feeds for best performance - Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and CAD models - Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment - Identify and resolve machining or tooling issues to maintain production quality - Work closely with engineering and quality teams to continuously improve processes - Maintain machinery and ensure a safe, organised workspace in line with H&S standards - Support lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement About You
 
Experienced CNC Turner with strong background in setting and operating turn-mill machines - Proficient with Siemens machine controls and ideally CAM software such as Fusion - Skilled in manual XYZ lathe operation - Sound understanding of machining aluminium, stainless steel, plastics, and other materials - Strong attention to detail with a methodical, problem-solving mindset - Confident communicator with excellent organisational and time management skills - Relevant qualification such as a time-served Apprenticeship, HNC or HND in Engineering What's On Offer
