Halton Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to lead our Children in Care 16+ Team, helping young people move confidently and safely into independence. About the Role: As Team Leader, you'll oversee a team of social workers and support staff who are committed to delivering high-quality services to young people aged 16 and over who are in our care or preparing to leave care. You'll provide day-to-day management, guidance, and support to ensure effective safeguarding, planning, and positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction to the 16+ team, ensuring high standards of social work practice. Oversee caseloads and support social workers in complex decision-making. Monitor performance and compliance with statutory responsibilities and service standards. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support young people transitioning into adulthood. Champion the voice of young people and ensure their views are central to care planning.Requirements: Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Proven experience within children's services, ideally with care-experienced or older young people. Strong leadership, supervision, and team development skills.
