The post holder will lead operational delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers. They are responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery, effective planning, and compliance with technical and quality standards. This role directly impacts road safety outcomes and involves developing operational processes, managing performance, and fostering talent development. The role also involves liaising with the Policy & Service Heads to support business improvements and ensuring standards are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing leadership and guidance to staff, establishing a clear vision, and maintaining integrity and reputation.
2. Leading vehicle testing operations across regional teams to ensure quality and consistency.
3. Ensuring networks meet operational standards, quality expectations, and business targets.
4. Maintaining effective communication with staff and management.
5. Developing operational plans for high-quality, value-for-money services.
6. Driving improvements based on QA and audits, promoting best practices.
7. Collaborating on strategic business planning with relevant managers.
8. Acting as a liaison for specific services, providing operational expertise on issues and legislation.
9. Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer needs and communicate requirements.
