Hour: 40 hours per week
Scope of Role
Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company supplying retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrison’s, and Waitrose in the UK. The purpose of this role is to oversee and support Continuous Improvement initiatives across all departments, promoting a culture of Continuous Improvement using LEAN & Continuous Improvement tools. You will oversee the work of the Continuous Improvement Analyst.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mentor and support all departments in pursuing Continuous Improvement and best practices.
2. Drive productivity improvements focusing on OEE, eliminating losses, and enhancing equipment utilization.
3. Oversee the Leader Standard Work (LSW) program.
4. Deliver leadership training to Line Leads, Charge Hands, and Supervisors.
5. Promote cost efficiency through effective labour utilization.
6. Ensure the consistent use of Lean tools like 5S, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping.
7. Coach team members on Level 1 and Level 2 Continuous Improvement projects.
8. Develop and mentor junior Continuous Improvement team members.
9. Lead and manage at least two active Continuous Improvement projects, ensuring timely completion.
10. Deputise for the Continuous Improvement Manager.
11. Contribute to fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and doing the right thing.
12. Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
13. Perform other duties to support business needs.
Person Specification
1. 2–5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Process Improvement, or similar lean manufacturing roles.
2. Proven ability to implement efficiency improvements.
3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other applications.
4. Understanding of cost drivers and operational financial impacts.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
6. Lean Manufacturing Qualifications.
7. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
8. Structured, data-driven problem-solving approach.
9. High attention to detail and accuracy.
