Role Overview
As an EC&I Engineer, you’ll support the design, development, and delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems for complex engineering projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help ensure systems are safe, reliable, and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in designing EC&I systems from concept to commissioning.
* Produce and review technical documentation, including control philosophies and functional design specs.
* Collaborate with mechanical and safety teams for integrated designs.
* Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
* Liaise with suppliers and contribute to design reviews.
* Provide input to project planning and proposals.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or similar.
* Experience with PLC/HMI systems and CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical).
* Understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and motor control.
* Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. BS EN 60204, BS 7671).
* Strong communication and documentation skills.
* Full UK driving licence (travel may be required).
* Experience in regulated sectors (e.g. Nuclear, Defence).
* Knowledge of functional safety standards and tools (e.g. SISTEMA).
* Hands‑on experience with electrical panels and PLC programming.
