Role Summary
We are seeking reliable and motivated Warehouse Operatives to support efficient warehouse operations at our Sheffield depot. You will play a vital role in the receipt, handling, storage, preparation and dispatch of equipment and stock, ensuring quality, accuracy and safety always.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on assignment (Goods-In, Dispatch or General Warehouse duties), your core tasks may include:
Goods-In Duties
* Receive, inspect and record incoming goods against delivery documentation for accuracy and quality.
* Sort, assess and report any discrepancies or damages to the Warehouse Team Leader.
* Log received items into the inventory management system promptly.
* Clean returned goods/equipment and prepare items for storage or reuse.
Dispatch Duties
* Prepare and stage goods or hire equipment for dispatch according to customer specifications.
* Accurately pick, pack and label orders.
* Perform quality checks to ensure outgoing items are safe and complete.
General Warehouse Duties
* Move, stack and store goods safely and efficiently.
* Load and unload vehicles as required.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse yard and racking areas.
* Assist with stock counts, stock rotation and housekeeping tasks.
* Always follow all health & safety procedures.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Attributes
* Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or goods handling environment preferred.
* Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
* Physically fit with the ability to lift and carry heavy items safely.
* Basic IT skills for system entry and inventory tracking (desirable).
* Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure.
Desirable Qualifications & Certifications
* Forklift licence (Counterbalance / Reach Truck) – advantageous but not essential.
* Basic Health & Safety training (desirable).
* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or handheld scanning equipment (desirable).
Working Conditions
* Warehouse and yard environment — may include outdoor tasks and variable temperatures.
* Manual handling and use of lifting equipment.
* Shift work may be required depending on operational needs
