The Electrical System Design and Grid Integration department is looking for the services of a consultant to help with the development of a number of electrical design for offshore wind farms at the concept design stage of the project. The role will require the consultant to propose initial designs and then develop the designs using risk based assessment techniques to produce concept designs that can be used for bid submission and as the basis of more detailed design if the bid is successful. The consultant will be required to work on a number of project concurrently.
The consultant will be a key member of the electrical design team and will need to work flexibly as the priorities of projects move as work progresses. The consultant will need to be comfortable working with reasonably high levels of uncertainty and be able to work at a senior level within the team requiring only high level supervision. The key product that the consultant will be delivering within the team for each of the projects will be a single line diagram (SLD) and a concept design report, together with an assumption book and risk book appropriate for the electrical design for each of the projects.

* Electrical design for offshore wind farms in concept design stage
* Powerfactory license and software along with Microsoft office package supplied by consultancy
* Propose initial designs and develop the designs using risk based assessment techniques to use for bid submission
* The consultant will be required to work on a number of project concurrently
* Consultants will work with client on a seconded basis to help scope tasks in detail before task execution, to agree task, boundary conditions, design criteria, conclusion sought etc. Consultant will be included in the project team with daily activities
* Consultants will be expected to conduct the necessary studies and document in accordance with client needs
* Experience with offshore wind projects in concept design is highly valued
