Main duties of the job
Working with young adults is a rewarding and fascinating experience, with the opportunity to develop new knowledge & skills in managing complex mental health, eating disorders, gender dysphoria, complex contraception presentations and sexual health. Job Description
Job responsibilities
You will play a vital role in delivering patient care. Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting routine and urgent appointments, face-to-face, online and via telephone, ensuring high-quality care.
* Being part of our weekly rota for online consultations/triage.
* Prescribing according to local and national guidelines.
* Managing administrative tasks, such as letters, results, referrals, and emails, in a timely manner.
* Making appropriate referrals and managing related admin.
* Checking and signing repeat prescriptions to maintain care quality.
* Providing cover for colleagues in emergencies, considering individual commitments.
* Participating in on-call sessions.
* Collaborating with other health and social care providers to deliver integrated care.
* Maintaining accurate consultation records using EMIS.
* Maintain high standards of clinical work, including participation in practice meetings, audits, and protocol development.
* Participate in all areas of service delivery, including NHS services, private work, and university-related tasks.
* Contribute towards NHS contractual obligations such as Local and National Enhanced Services and QOF.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified GP with full GMC registration.
* National Performers List registration (England) and eligibility to practice independently in the UK.
Experience
* Experience in a primary care environment and understanding of primary care contracts.
* Ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice, clinical policies, and audit processes.
* Experience working autonomously, assessing and managing patient risk within scope of practice.
* Effective triage, assessment, and diagnostic skills.
* Excellent communication skills, including accurate record-keeping and empathetic patient interaction.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
* Experience with Emis Web.
