We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Workers to join our Small Group Homes and Woodview services within Children’s Social Care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of looked-after young people by delivering bespoke, high-quality care that achieves the best possible outcomes.
The Role As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a key role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young people. You will work closely with colleagues, families, and professionals to promote positive relationships, independence, and personal development. This includes:
Providing day-to-day care and support in line with care and placement plans.
Acting as a positive role model, using restorative and relationship-based practice.
Supporting children both in the home and in the community, including outreach and family work.
Encouraging educational, social, and emotional development, while advocating for full-time education or training.
Promoting health, wellbeing, and independent living skills to prepare young people for the future.
Maintaining accurate records, safeguarding young people, and ensuring all policies and regulations are followed.
Contributing to team development, training, and continuous improvement.This role requires working on a flexible rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and occasional sleep-ins (allowance payable).
About You We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive. You will need:
Experience of working with children.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A commitment to high standards of care and positive outcomes for young people.
An understanding of Children’s Home Regulations and the Children Act 1989 (or willingness to develop this).
The ability to work flexibly as part of a team and engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and anti-discriminatory practice.Qualifications required:
Level 2 English and Maths.
Willingness to achieve Level 4 Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) within 2 years of appointment.What We Offer
Contract: Permanent, full-time (37 hours)
