St Patrick's Primary School Wallsend is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Canteen Manager (11 hours per week) to join the team on Wednesdays and Fridays.
St Patrick’s Primary School, Wallsend, is a Catholic community offering a welcoming environment for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Canteen Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the school canteen, including opening and closing, preparing, and selling menu items according to the canteen menu. The role requires adherence to food handling and money policies, maintaining a cooperative work environment, and providing friendly, customer-focused service to students and staff.
The Canteen Manager will build strong relationships within the school community, especially with students, parents, volunteers, teachers, and staff.
Responsibilities include managing the canteen profitably in compliance with policies, procedures, and WHS legislation. The role also involves supervising a small team, demonstrating initiative, and managing day-to-day operations.

* Experience in food preparation and service.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Customer service skills, especially with children.
* Experience in operating a food business.
* Ability to supervise a small team and demonstrate initiative.
* Strong time management skills.
* Experience working with volunteers and parent groups.
* Basic financial management knowledge.
* Understanding of WHS legislation.
* Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
* Food safety and handling experience.
Qualifications
* Basic Food Handling Certificate
* Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
