looking for FP & A Manager to join our team at our head office in Wakefield
on a 6 month interim contract.
What you’ll
be doing…
You will be
commercially minded; you will work closely with your peers providing financial
insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making.
As the Interim FP&A Manager, you will play a
critical role in supporting the financial planning and analysis function of our
organisation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for
providing insightful analysis, developing financial models, and guiding
strategic decision-making processes. You will also work closely with the wider
finance team, and liaise with the executive board and SLT.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead the
development of comprehensive financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term
strategic plans in collaboration with department heads and senior leadership.

Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of
financial performance, variances, and trends to identify key insights and areas
for improvement. Present findings to senior management to facilitate
decision-making.

Management Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular
management accounts, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor business performance and
support strategic initiatives.
·
Cost Management: Partner with operational teams to
analyse costs, identify efficiencies, and drive cost-saving initiatives across
the organisation.
·
Financial Modelling: Develop sophisticated financial
models to evaluate business scenarios, assess investment opportunities, and
support strategic planning efforts.
·
Forecast Accuracy: Monitor forecast accuracy and
refine forecasting methodologies to improve the reliability of financial
projections.
·
Ad-hoc Analysis: Undertake ad-hoc financial analysis
and special projects as required by senior management, providing actionable
insights to support decision-making.
·
Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance
FP&A processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and
scalability.
Qualifications:
·
ACA
/ ACCA / CIMA Qualified
·
Proven
experience (5+ years) in financial planning and analysis roles, preferably
within a fast-paced SME or startup environment.
·
Strong
analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into
actionable insights.
·
Advanced
proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting techniques, and MS Excel;
experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan)
is a plus.
·
Excellent
communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact
with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
·
Results-oriented
mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
·
Ability
to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, balancing multiple
priorities and deadlines.
Duration: This is an interim
position with an estimated duration of 3-6 months, with the possibility of
extension based on business needs.
