Job Description
Regulatory Leadership
3. Act as Responsible Individual (RI) for the Leeds office audit practice
4. Maintain audit registration and regulatory standing with appropriate professional bodies
5. Oversee audit quality monitoring and ensure adherence to the audit methodology
Audit Practice Leadership
6. Lead and direct a portfolio of significant audit engagements
7. Sign audit opinions on statutory and regulatory audits as engagement partner
8. Mentor and develop audit managers and senior staff
Client Relationship Management
9. Build and maintain relationships with key audit clients and prospects
10. Identify opportunities for cross-selling other services
11. Participate in tender processes for new audit appointments
Business Development
12. Develop new client relationships and expand existing client services
13. Represent the firm at industry events and professional forums
14. Work with marketing team on thought leadership and business development initiatives
The Successful Applicant
Professional Qualifications
15. ACA or ACCA qualification with valid audit qualification
16. Registered as Responsible Individual (RI) or eligible for registration
17. Minimum 10+ years post-qualification experience in audit
18. Substantial experience as an audit engagement Director
Technical Expertise
19. Comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS
20. Expert understanding of ISAs (UK) and audit methodology
21. Experience with FRC regulatory framework and inspection processes
22. Knowledge of relevant sector-specific audit requirements
23. Understanding of emerging audit technologies and data analytics
Leadership & Management
24. Proven track record in senior audit leadership roles
25. Experience managing and developing audit teams
26. Strong commercial acumen and business development skills
27. Excellent client relationship management capabilities
28. Track record of successful audit practice growth
Desirable Requirements
29. Experience with listed company audits and complex group structures
30. Public sector or regulated industry audit experience
31. Experience with audit technology and data analytics tools
32. Previous experience as RI or similar regulatory role
33. MBA or other relevant business qualification
34. Active involvement in professional bodies or industry committees
