Job Overview
We are seeking two part time compassionate and dedicated Activity Coordinators to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidates will be responsible for planning, organising, and leading engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being among seniors, particularly those living with dementia. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and fostering a warm, supportive environment. The hours available are 20 hour contracts with day shifts and to include every other weekend, shifts are to be confirmed.
Duties
* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and physical exercises.
* Facilitate group activities that encourage socialisation and community building among residents.
* Provide individual support to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Communicate effectively with residents to understand their preferences and adapt activities accordingly.
* Collaborate with care staff to integrate therapeutic activities into individual care plans for residents with specific needs.
* Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback on activities to assess their effectiveness.
* Ensure all materials and equipment used in activities are safe and appropriate for resident use.
Skills
* Strong communication skills to engage effectively with seniors, families, and team members.
* Experience or knowledge in dementia care is highly desirable to cater to the unique needs of residents.
* A genuine passion for senior care and a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals in assisted living or nursing home settings.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
* Creativity and resourcefulness in designing engaging activities that resonate with residents.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while ensuring a high standard of care.
