About This Role

We have an exciting opening for a Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team. The TA will work with teaching staff to enhance students' learning and attainment by providing support to access the curriculum, participate in learning, and reach their potential. Previous experience in a secondary school is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The role is based on 32 hours per week, term time plus one week (39 weeks per year).

You will support pupils with special educational needs, encouraging their learning, skill development, confidence, and achievement. Working closely with staff, you will contribute to an engaging classroom environment and support students' learning journeys.

At Cowes Enterprise College, we are mentors, guides, and champions of lifelong learning. Our mission is to nurture a love for learning and equip students with skills for life beyond the classroom.

Cowes Enterprise College is a successful school with strong outcomes. Our mission: to educate for life. We focus on developing a love of learning and preparing students for the future, driven by their limitless potential. Our purpose is to support and inspire them to reach their goals.

Why work for Ormiston Academies Trust? Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more.

* Working for a nationally recognized Trust for its impact on disadvantaged children—a rewarding career that challenges staff to excel for our students.
* Being part of a supportive community with professional development, flexible working, and benefits.

Why Choose Cowes Enterprise College?

We offer:

* A supportive community focused on professional growth and staff wellbeing.
* Access to extensive resources and opportunities through our Trust.
* Guidance and support from leadership committed to student success.
* Automatic pay increments, independent of targets.

We support staff wellbeing through our Staff Charter. Staff receive a laptop, access to counseling, discounted leisure memberships, travel discounts, eye tests, flu vaccinations, free parking, and refreshments during breaks.

Hear from our teachers:

“I moved to the Island over ten years ago and enjoy working at Cowes Enterprise College. I value the collaborative planning, CPD opportunities, and supportive colleagues. The students are great to teach.”

“Cowes Enterprise College is the school I wish I had attended. Staff are friendly and supportive; students are talented and inspiring. The facilities are great, and the view of the sea is a bonus.”

How To Apply

If you're ready to join us and shape our students' futures, apply today! The closing date is 6 July, with interviews soon after. Early applications are encouraged, as we may close the vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment. We embrace diversity and promote equality of opportunity. Flexible working will be considered.

Successful applicants will undergo checks in line with KCSIE, including identity, right to work, qualifications, prohibition, references, and an enhanced DBS check, including the Children’s Barred List.
