Purpose of Role We’re looking for a proactive PR & Digital Marketing Assistant to support the delivery of internal and external communications across our strategic land, planning, and development portfolio. In this role, you will help shape our narrative, strengthen the company’s reputation within the property and planning sectors, and ensure consistent, high-quality communication with landowners, local authorities, investors, and community stakeholders. Your work will contribute directly to building a strong brand presence by clearly communicating the value of our land promotion activity, planning progress, and long-term development ambitions. Duties of the role Public Relations & Media Support Support the development and delivery of PR activity that highlights the company’s expertise in strategic land, planning, and development. Maintain and develop relationships with trade and regional media. Draft press releases, media statements, case studies, and thought leadership content. Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for visibility. Corporate Communications Help maintain consistent messaging across all communication channels. Produce engaging written content for the website, newsletters, social media, and internal updates. Support the team in communicating planning achievements, partnerships, community benefits, and project milestones. Stakeholder & Community Engagement Work collaboratively with local authorities, and community organisations to support project communications. Assist with materials for public consultations, exhibitions, and community events. Internal Communications Support senior leadership with internal messaging, presentations, updates, and briefing documents. Ensure teams across land, planning, and development have up to date and consistent information. Digital & Content Creation Maintain and update website content to reflect current projects and corporate priorities. Support management of social media channels, ensuring a professional, sector aligned presence. Create high quality content including project updates, brochures, articles, visual assets, and other digital materials. Issues & Crisis Communication Support Assist in preparing communication responses for planning appeals, controversial applications, or sensitive negotiations. Draft FAQs, briefing notes, and reactive statements when needed. ?Desired skills/experience required Experience in PR, communications, or public affairs—ideally within property, land, planning, or the wider built-environment sectors. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical planning or development information into accessible messages. Experience supporting media relations and responding to press enquiries. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong digital skills, including social media and content management systems. Confident stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and external partners. Understanding of the UK planning system or strategic land promotion. Experience working with planning consultants, developers, or land agents. Familiarity with community engagement or statutory consultation processes. Awareness of ESG, sustainability communications, or place-making narratives. Personal Attributes Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
