Facilities Manager

About the Role
Our dynamic, operator client is seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to deliver an efficient, effective and customer-focused facilities management service within a busy retail destination.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining high operational standards across facilities management, health & safety, cleaning, landscaping and security. You will play a key role in enhancing the customer experience while protecting and optimising the centre's asset value.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Facilities Management
* Oversee the day-to-day facilities management of the centre, ensuring a safe, compliant and welcoming environment
* Ensure swift resolution of operational issues in a customer-centric manner
* Manage maintenance, cleaning, security and landscaping contracts, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are achieved
* Develop strong relationships with Contract Managers and contractors
Contract & Budget Management
* Lead all facilities-related contracts and provide proposals for new and existing services
* Build and manage the facilities budget, contributing to annual and three-year business plans
* Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and operational efficiencies
* Propose and implement capital expenditure projects to protect and enhance the asset
Health, Safety & Risk Management
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health & safety, fire and building regulations
* Support development and implementation of risk management and disaster recovery procedures
* Identify and remediate risks across the centre
* Organise fire safety and crisis management training in partnership with the Facilities Team
* Participate in the Duty Manager rota
Tenant & Stakeholder Management
* Develop strong working relationships with tenants
* Manage store fit-outs, refurbishments and tenant transitions proactively and efficiently
* Ensure smooth onboarding and exit processes
Sustainability & Utilities
* Manage utilities including electricity, gas and water
* Drive sustainability initiatives and environmental best practice across the centre
About You
You are a confident, solutions-focused facilities professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a customer-first mindset.
Essential
* Proven property services/facilities management experience in a customer-facing environment
* Retail or hospitality sector experience preferred
* Relevant health & safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of risk and security management
* Budget management experience and numerical confidence
* Excellent communication skills
* Fluent English (written and spoken)
* Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
