ROLE SUMMARY
Reddam House Berkshire is a co‑educational, independent school located in a Victorian mansion on 125 acres of wood and parkland. The school hosts approximately 740 students from 3 months to 18 years, including day students and boarders from age 11+. We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and reflective Junior School English Teacher (Upper Key Stage 2) on a full‑time, permanent basis to join our Junior School team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Uphold the school’s ethos and values, maintaining professional standards and building positive relationships
* Support the through‑school and boarding community
* Deliver high‑quality, inclusive teaching, using digital technology to enhance learning
* Use resources responsibly and act as school ambassadors
* Promote high expectations and a positive learning culture
* Provide pastoral care and pupil support
* Engage in professional development
* Contribute to the co‑curricular programme
* Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing, and support an inclusive school environment
* Deliver effective classroom teaching
* Plan lessons in line with curriculum requirements
* Monitor progress and provide feedback
* Assess and report pupil achievement
* Contribute to curriculum development
* Undertake form tutor responsibilities
* Participate in trips and wider school activities
* Complete administrative duties efficiently
* Supervise classes as required
* Liaise with senior leaders
* Follow professional standards and statutory requirements
* Adhere to school policies and procedures
* Work collaboratively with colleagues
* Support pupils to achieve their potential
* Comply with safeguarding and health & safety requirements

* Adaptable teaching approach informed by feedback and reflection
* Strong subject knowledge and understanding of effective learning
* Excellent lesson planning, preparation and assessment skills
* Ability to monitor progress and provide feedback to improve outcomes
* Commitment to high standards of pupil welfare and wellbeing
* Proven experience teaching KS2, ideally Upper KS2
* Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
* Confident use of ICT to support teaching and learning
* Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with ability to manage workload effectively
* Ability to contribute subject expertise within the Junior School
* PGCE, QTS or equivalent qualification
* Strong academic background and right to work in the UK
* Commitment to ongoing professional development

* Ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people
* Able to manage workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines
