Skills for Practice are a small but dynamic team, working in many different areas from career support, widening participation and clinical skills. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities What you’ll do The post holder will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating clinical skills teaching to undergraduate medical students and trust staff. Whilst the main focus of the post is classroom-based teaching there will be times when you will need to work with learners on the ward or in the clinical areas. In addition to the delivery of clinical skills training the post holder will be required to support the Trust widening participation, career experience and career activity. The widening participation agenda supports individuals to access employment or education, and we work with several partners including Choices College and The King’s Trust to enable this. We offer on-site/off-site and virtual career experience to young people to help them make career decisions. The off-site career experience will require you to be able to travel offsite (with resources) to local venues. Role/responsibilities/skills/experience You need to have excellent clinical skills including cannulation and venesection, ECG, catheterisation, wound swabbing, IV drug administration, and suturing as well as good communication skills. You must be able to work within a team as well as autonomously when required. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills are a must as is the ability to work flexibly when required. You will need to be able to travel off-site to career events in the local area. Specific to this role is the suitability for agile working which is a mixture of on-site and remote working. In addition, we are open to discussing flexibility in the hours that you work.
