Overview
HSE Recruitment are working with a large manufacturing site in Shoreham-by-Sea, England, United Kingdom, seeking an HSE Advisor to support the site in improving compliance and culture across the operation. The site is large and complex, with around 350 staff and activities including assembly, manufacturing, fuels, chemicals, FLT and environmental permits. The role involves working with the on-site HSEQ team, SMT and the HSEQ Director to build and improve the safety, health and environmental culture and maintain high levels of compliance.
The site is receptive to change and aims to improve; the successful candidate will help drive improvements and have visibility across the business.
Responsibilities
* Manage ISO systems: 45001, 14001, 9001 and 27001.
* Coordinate internal and external audits, conduct trend analysis and risk assessment reviews.
* Deliver training and promote a proactive HSE culture across the site.
* Support compliance with permits and regulatory requirements related to fuels, chemicals and other site risks.
* Work with the HSEQ Director, the on-site HSEQ Advisor and site leadership to drive improvements and ensure robust HSE processes.
* Translate technical HSE information into clear, actionable language for all levels of the business.
Person Specification / Qualifications
* NEBOSH Certificate (minimum).
* Strong HSE advisory experience.
* Background in manufacturing, engineering or production is advantageous but not essential beyond the required personal traits.
* Internal auditing, fire safety or environmental/waste experience would be desirable.
* Desirable: ability to influence, strong communication at all levels, hands-on approach and a drive to continuously improve.
Salary and Location
Salary negotiable; budget ideally GBP 40,000–50,000, with potential for more for the right candidate.
