People & Capability Coordinator

Join Saunders International. For over 70 years, Saunders has been proudly engineering Australia’s future — delivering tanks, terminals, bridges, and industrial process automation across the country. As an ASX-listed company, our footprint spans energy, defence, infrastructure and resources. We’re on the lookout for a People & Capability Coordinator to support our powerhouse team. Based in our Charlestown, Newcastle office, you’ll play a key role in keeping our administration, compliance and people processes running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll support the full employee lifecycle, ensuring our HRIS is up to date, coordinating meetings and events, and being a trusted first point of contact for employee queries.

Your day-to-day might include:

* Scheduling interviews and supporting recruitment activities
* Following up onboarding tasks to ensure all records are complete
* Booking pre-employment screening appointments
* Keeping our Martian Logic system (and our spreadsheets!) in top shape
* Welcoming new hires and setting them up for success
* Organise events that boost employee engagement

Who You Are

You are highly organised, a confident communicator, and someone who thrives in a collaborative team environment. You’re in it for the long term, with a drive to learn and grow and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and creating the best experience for everyone.

You’ll bring:

* Demonstrated excellence in Human Resources administration
* A relevant qualification and/or proven industry know-how
* Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems – bonus points if you’ve used Martian Logic
* Impeccable judgement and confidentiality, along with a genuine care for people
* Strong relationship-building skills
* An understanding of HR legislation and contemporary best practice
* Tech-savvy skills and a can-do attitude

What’s In It For You

We know great work comes from happy, supported people. That’s why we offer:

* Competitive pay that recognises your expertise
* Flexibility around hours and working arrangements
* A friendly, down-to-earth team culture
* Paid parental leave and wellbeing leave
* Cost of living discounts and access to our Employee Assistance Program
* The chance to make a real impact in a growing, future-focused business

At Saunders, our values of OneTeam, Zero Harm, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity and Respect aren’t just words. They guide everything we do.

How to Apply

Ready to take the next step? Hit Apply and send us your resume - we can’t wait to hear from you!

To join the Saunders team, you’ll need:

* Full working rights in Australia
* Contactable references
* A clear criminal record check
* To complete a pre-employment medical (including drug & alcohol screening)

For the right person, we would consider engaging you under the type of contract that works for you - full time, part time, ongoing, or temporary.

Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

Saunders embraces the values of an innovative and diverse workforce and recognises that inclusion sets us all up for success. We encourage applications from people of all ages, individuals with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, women, ADF veterans, members of the LGBTIQA+ community and other culturally diverse backgrounds. We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments to ensure a positive, barrier-free recruitment experience and supportive workplace. All suitably qualified or experienced applicants will be considered.

We appreciate the time and effort that goes into each application. While we review every submission carefully, we aren’t always able to respond individually due to application volume.

For a confidential conversation, reach out to our Head of People & Capability at people@saundersint.com.
