Job Overview
To be an effective and professional on‑site point of contact ensuring the security of our client premises, property and personnel. To provide a flexible service to the customer that accommodates any local requirements or specific requests for contracted services and ad‑hoc duties as agreed by Security Management.
Main Duties
 * Protect premises against unauthorised access or occupation.
 * Protect property against destruction, damage and theft.
 * Comply with Mitie Uniform Policy including PPEs.
 * Show valid SIA licences and client issued passes.
 * Check IDs, control and register vehicle / pedestrian movements.
 * Communicate professionally and courteously.
 * Escort and monitor contractors or visitors to site.
 * Maintain a check on perimeter and areas of the site for intrusion, fire or flood.
 * Conduct regular, highly visible patrols of the site perimeter using tools/PPE and carry out lockups when necessary.
 * Handle key issuing procedures.
 * Respond to emergencies and assist in evacuations, applying first aid and using defibrillators.
 * Complete internal and external patrols, use Mitie software and report faults promptly.
 * Monitor CCTV and report faults to client helpdesk.
 * Operate all alarm systems for safety and protection.
 * Ensure prompt incident, fault or occurrence reporting.
 * Ensure health and safety of own and others on site.
 * Keep up to date with security guidelines, bulletins and Mitie communications.
 * Read, understand and acknowledge Mitie communications.
 * Comply with welfare check calls requirements and procedures.
 * Comply with data protection regulations (DPA, GDPR).
 * Communicate with site and Mitie Management.
 * Liaise with emergency services as needed.
 * Complete all site documentation: logbooks, incident reports, key registers, attendance sheets.
 * Maintain equipment and tools, report faults.
 * Be punctual and book in/out through Mitie app.
 * Remain in post until relieved.
 * Properly hand over shifts.
 * Train and support new joiners as required.
 * Be always alert and vigilant.
 * Carry out all reasonable Mitie management instructions.
 * Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Security and Health & Safety
 * Ensure health and safety of own and other site users.
 * Report health and safety hazards immediately.
 * Respond to emergencies and assist in evacuations, applying first aid and defibrillators.
 * Stay alert to threats and changes, take appropriate action.
 * Use common sense; involve others if threat appears.
 * Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
 * Log incidents promptly for Incident Report process.
 * Stay on schedule and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
What We Are Looking For – Interested Candidates Who Can
 * Positively respond to reasonable requests from Mitie supervisor or management.
 * Be flexible, prepare to work rolling roster including weekends, nights, bank holidays.
 * Respond to client requests within contracted scope.
 * Be courteous, helpful and polite.
 * Communicate well verbally, formally with a team‑player attitude.
 * Be highly motivated, capable of multi‑tasking.
 * Have a proactive approach to learning and development.
 * Handle varied workload with attention to detail, work on own initiative.
 * Have basic IT knowledge.
 * Have Counter Terrorism level clearance, SC clearance or be prepared to undergo vetting for CT clearance.
 * Have been in the UK for at least 3 years with right to work status.
 * Pass vetting checks as per BS7858.
 * Work in line with requirements and standards per BS 7499.
 * Possess valid SIA Licence for guarding/door supervision and CCTV, or be prepared to undergo CCTV licence‑linked training.
