Fleet Designer
We're looking for a Fleet Designer to join our Property & Fleet team in a permanent role. In this externally focused position, you’ll work together with industry-leading suppliers to deliver cutting-edge fleet solutions that not only meet the needs of today but also the future. You'll play a key role in pioneering smarter, greener, and more efficient fleet assets, embracing alternative power sources, automation, and digital tech to revolutionise performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Your Role in Action
1. Partner with top Original Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers to design and deliver fleet assets that exceed operational needs and drive innovation.
2. Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies like electrification, hydrogen fuel cells, automation, and telematics to future-proof our fleet.
3. Spearhead pilot programs and trials that explore next-generation solutions, turning innovative ideas into real-world impact.
4. Forge and nurture strong partnerships across industry and technology sectors to keep our fleet strategy cutting-edge.
5. Co-create customised fleet designs focused on maximising performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
6. Analyse operational data and feedback to continuously enhance fleet design and meet evolving business goals.
7. Play an integral role in procurement and supplier management to ensure quality, value, and timely delivery of fleet assets.
8. Drive the vision for smarter, cleaner, and more efficient fleets by integrating alternative power and digital technologies at every step.
What Makes You a Great Fit
9. Proven expertise in fleet design, automotive engineering, or technical specification development, ideally within utilities or heavy vehicle sectors.
10. Skilled in creating detailed technical drawings for Heavy/Light Vehicles, Plant Equipment or tooling.
11. Deep understanding of fleet technologies, vehicle systems, Australian Design Rules, and cutting-edge innovations like alternative fuels, automation, and connectivity solutions.
12. Demonstrated success collaborating with OEMs, negotiating technical requirements, and driving strong supplier partnerships.
13. Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety standards, and industry best practices governing fleet design and procurement.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for continuous improvement and boosting operational efficiency.
15. Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, experienced in building relationships with industry partners and suppliers.
16. Relevant technical qualifications such as a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, or related fields—or substantial equivalent experience enabling you to excel in this role.
